Our Patron Saint

St. Roque , was a 13th-century Christian saint born into a noble family in Montpellier, France, around 1295. His life took a transformative turn when he embarked on a pilgrimage to Rome, where he encountered regions ravaged by the plague. Saint Roque ultimately succumbed to death in prison, traditionally on August 16, 1327. His selfless acts and dedication to those suffering from the plague have made him a revered figure, venerated as a protector against contagious diseases. His feast day is celebrated on August 16th, and he is recognized as the patron saint of those afflicted by infectious diseases, as well as surgeons, nurses, and dogs.
